A bold, "Dark Mode" centric digital transformation for Prambors FM’s official portal. We designed a modern entertainment hub that seamlessly blends trending pop-culture news with interactive music charts, providing a high-energy experience for the "Kawula Muda" (Young Generation) audience.

The Challenge

Prambors is synonymous with youth and music. However, their digital presence needed to catch up with the fast-paced nature of social media and modern streaming aesthetics.

The primary challenges were:

  • Visual Differentiation: Standing out from generic news portals by creating a signature "Radio-meets-Digital" look.

  • Feature Integration: Balancing three core pillars: Entertainment News, Radio Live Streaming, and Music Charts (Top 40).

  • Engagement: Keeping a younger demographic on the site longer through immersive visual storytelling.

Our Solution

We embraced a "Midnight Pop" design language, using high-contrast elements and a dark-themed interface to appeal to the digital-native audience.

  • Signature Dark Mode Aesthetics: Unlike traditional white-background news sites, we built the entire portal on a deep, "Midnight Black" canvas. This not only makes the neon accents and high-quality artist photos "pop" but also aligns with the modern apps (like Spotify or TikTok) that the target audience uses daily.

  • Interactive "Top 40" Charts: We redesigned the music charts into an interactive, ranking-style list. Each entry features a hover-to-play snippet, dynamic album art, and social share shortcuts, turning a static list into a discovery tool.

  • Card-Driven Entertainment Feed: For news sections, we used a "Bento-Box" style grid. Each card features bold headlines and vibrant tag categories (e.g., Music, Lifestyle, Korean Wave), making the feed feel like a curated social media wall.

  • Persistent Live Stream Widget: To bridge the gap between radio and web, we implemented a persistent, minimalist "On-Air" player. This allows fans to listen to their favorite announcers while scrolling through the latest celebrity gossip without any audio interruption.

  • Fluid Mobile Navigation: Recognizing that 90% of "Kawula Muda" access the site via mobile, we prioritized a "thumb-friendly" interface with oversized hit areas and smooth horizontal scrolls for quick category browsing.

Results

The redesign successfully revitalized Prambors FM’s digital brand. The "Dark Mode" signature look created an instant visual hook, resulting in a 40% increase in session duration and a higher engagement rate on the music charts. The portal is now more than a news site—it is a central hub for Indonesia’s youth lifestyle.
